Our main goals are to build sustainable homes for our members as well as provide business management and technical consultancy services for tenant-owner associations and commonhold associations. We build, sell, manage and maintain your property. With more than 80 years of experience and expertise, we strive to create value for our members and customers. 

Owned by our members

 

BOB is the largest in Western Norway and one of the biggest in country. BOB specialises in the development and sale of residential and commercial property, property management and other housing and property services. Owned by its 77,000 members, the co-operative was established in 1941 to provide a solution to Bergen’s housing problems. All post-tax profits are reinvested in the organisation in order to achieve the goal of building homes for its members. The organisation operates in the region of Vestland, has around 155 employees and is headquartered in Bergen.

 

 

Membership at a low cost

 

It doesn’t cost much to be a BOB member, but the benefits are considerable. For example, you get on nearly 100,000 homes when house-hunting. You will also gain access to our membership programme, which offers benefits that make it easier and more affordable to buy, own or rent a home.

 

Membership is free for everyone under the age of 18. It only costs NOK 300 to register. After that, membership is free until you turn 18. Then you have to pay a yearly subscription.

 

For everyone else it costs NOK 300 in share capital to become a member of BOB in the first year. You then pay a subscription of NOK 300 per year.

Residential and commercial property development 

 

Business management and technical consultancy services are two of BOB’s core activities. Business management encompasses administrative and financial consultancy services as well as collection and bookkeeping services for tenant-owner associations and commonhold associations, while technical consultancy services include engineering services for owners of both residential and commercial properties.

 

BOB operates and manages more than 900,000 square metres of commercial property in Bergen and surrounding areas. BOB assists commercial property owners and acts as a professional link between owners and tenants. We also offer construction services and provide relevant tradespeople.

 

 

 

Initiator of the Norwegian PropTech cluster

 

BOB was the main initiator of the property technology cluster Proptech Innovation. This is a cluster of companies from different industries with one common goal: to make Norway’s largest onshore industry smart and sustainable and to export enabling technologies to the world.
